This Tabriz has a beige field with a beautiful flower medallion in the center with balanced motifs. Green border remains vibrant given its age of 60-70 years old. Blue is used to highlight the floral pattern.
Crafted with soft and premium Merino wool with approximately 225 kpsi. On top of that, this Tabriz has a high pile of ½” – ⅝” which contributes to its soft and plushy feeling on the feet.
It took 3 years and 248 days of knotting time to craft this Tabriz rug.
The cotton foundation is used for this vintage rug and it’s sure to last to become an antique.
The Father's Proud Son - The Alabaf Story
Tabriz is a major Persian rug-producing city in eastern Azerbaijan. It is known to produce the most high-grade Persian rugs and among the famous workshop is Alabaf.
This Tabriz rug is born in the mid-20th century. This rug is believed to be one of the masterpieces of master Abbasali Alabaf, the most talented son of the Founder of the Alabaf workshop.
Abbasali Alabaf was born in 1917. His talent was comparable to his father. He was known for his artistic use of color combinations that can not even be found in most of the valuable paintings. He used a green border and blue as highlights in this Tabriz.
Abbasali Alabaf weaved all kinds of designs from open fields to very intricate motifs. As you can see in this Tabriz rug, very well-balanced and artistic motifs are found. Giving this Tabriz a classy vintage look and yet able to complement any modern home style.
