Description
When rug weaving flourished in Persia, Kashan was renowned as one of the finest weaving centers in the east. One of the most common combinations you can find in Kashan rugs is a cotton base covered in a soft wool pile. Some weavers gave their creations a subtle royal touch by weaving silk highlights in the pile.
This regal 2’5″ x 3’2″ Persian Kashan rug features an eye-catching floral design in blue, brown, beige, green, pink, and gold colors. Aged 110-120 years, this medium pile rug has a luxurious 1/3″-3/8″ thickness and a magnificent knot density of approx. 441 KPSI. Kashan weavers are known for their skill in achieving softness without sacrificing durability in their creation.
Made of premium silk pile with silk foundation, this luxurious antique masterpiece was knotted by hand in approximately 84 days.
