1. What inspired you to begin your Persian rug collection?
I was inspired to begin a Persian rug purchase because of their superior quality. And the fact that they are hand-knotted, very strong. The color and design is exceptional.
2. How long have you been collecting rugs and how many rugs do you own so far?
I began collecting Persian rugs about 15 years ago and I currently own 4.
3. What particular selection criteria do you have when buying a rug? Please share your tips and tricks with other rug enthusiasts.
When selecting a rug, I usually look for the quality, color, durability and the fact that rugs can add value to my home. The material and fabric used to make Persian rugs is not synthetic, which is key decision for me in selecting a rug.
4. Why did you Choose Catalina?
I first became acquainted with Catalina Rugs several years ago. When I was looking through the architectural digest magazine and I saw that Catalina Rugs sold Persian rugs, and I realized then that they were only a few minutes from my home.
Once I met the owners, I realized that they were special people. Very friendly. Courteous and knowledgeable about their product. I love visiting their showroom and just chatting with them.
5. Why Persian Rugs?
I chose the Persian rugs because they are great for decorating around my current furniture. These rugs make a statement when you enter my home and bring life to the rooms where I have them.
You can also tell that my rugs do not come from a department store. They are indeed pieces of art that can be passed on to my children. My Persian rugs bring comfort to my home.
